The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this lot acquired after its initial manufacture.
- There is some slight surface wear, including a small loss of inlay, light scratches in some areas, and rubbing to the sides revealing small areas of the black lacquer beneath.
- The interior with some small cracks in places and chips to the rims, consistent with age and use. The edges of the ink slate with some chips.
- The edge of the base with a small, old surface chip.
