The polished black lacquer ground decorated in gold and silver togidashi, cut pieces of shell and gold foil with a peacock and peahen beside blossoming cherry trees, rockwork and young bamboo, the sides with sprays of cherry blossom, the interior of the upper tier with tomoe-mon against a black lacquer ground with hirame and fitted with a slate inkstone and silver water dropper of rhomboid form, the base with sparse nashiji, fundame rims, the lower tier with hirame against a black ground
