Lot Essay

A native of Southern California, Barney Reid produced highly innovative abstract and geometric designs in many media, ranging from painting and ceramics to fabric design and enameled metal.  As a founding member of San Diego’s Allied Craftsmen, Reid was affiliated with many artists in California of this period and shared a studio with Harry Bertoia.
