Overall in very good condition. Ash surfaces presents with light natural wear, and occasional fine marks and scratches, and some minor spotting to the upper faces of the armrests, consistent with age and light use. Some very minor movements to joints, however structure generally firm. Cream stain and blue paint to timber is original to the piece. Very minor age separation hairline to the seat panel, as is common to these examples, and not affecting overall appearance. Underside signed and dated 1960 by cabinetmaker van de Groenekan, and additionally later branded with Groenekan’s HGM mark.. A rare design showing Rietveld's planar aesthetic which relates closely to the iconic red-blue chair.
