Lot Essay

Zhang Qihou was born in Sizhou, Anhui. Like Shang Yanliu, he participated in the special Jiachen civil service examination in the thirtieth year of Guangxu’s reign, and attained fourth place overall. He was a master of poetry and calligraphy.
