Lot Essay

The present lot was dedicated to Li Hung Lit. Li, whose named his studio Feng Yuan Lou, is a contemporary poet and professor. He was born in Hong Kong in 1936. In 1956, he enrolled in the Department of Foreign Literature at the United College, Hong Kong, where he studied under Feng Kanghou. In 1965, Li would begin his graduate study in the Department of Philosophy at University of Western Ontario. The present lot was a farewell gift from Feng upon Li’s departure.
