NOTE:
Huang Yue, courtesy name Zuotian and also known as Zuojun, was a native of Dangtu County in Taiping Prefecture, Anhui. He obtained the jinshi degree in 1790 (Qianlong 55) and subsequently held posts including Assistant Director in the Ministry of Revenue, Academician of the Grand Secretariat, and Minister of Rites and of Revenue. He died in 1841 (Daoguang 21) and was granted the posthumous title Qinmin. His extant works include the Yizhaiji and the Twenty‑Four Treatises on Painting.
