This painting came from the collection of the Hocs family. Mr Samuel Hocs, a Jewish neurosurgeon based in Russia, moved to China and acquired this painting in the 1970s. Mr and Mrs Hocs later relocated to Brazil and gifted the work to their business partners, who were family members of the current owner.
