Lot Essay

Liu Junren, alternatively known as Shusheng, Yiqi, Zhenjian Louzhu, was born in Dongwan, Guangdong. Since 1929, he successively founded Wangguo Art Academy, Art Society of Overseas Chinese in Hong Kong, Children Art and Craft School and so on. In 1940, together with fellow artists such as Gao Jianfu, Zhang Guwei, Li Jingkang, Wu Meihe, he cofounded the Art Association of China and was elected as Chairman.
