The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
1. ZHANG LIAN (19TH CENTURY)
Riding Donkey
-There are some stain marks on the lower left side of the painting;
-there are some paper surface damage on the upper right side;
-otherwise it is in overall good condition.
2. SHA ZUO (?-1945?)
Fishing
-Mould patches and pots can be observed throughout the painting
-There is a small repair in the upper centre and a place of minor paper loss along the bottom edge.
-The work is in overall good condition.
3. ANONYMOUS
Bathing the Horse
-There are multiple cracks, tears, abrasions on the painting, some of which are repaired. Among others, there is a major crack in the bottom left quadrant and a series of obvious fold lines near the bottom edge.
-The work is in overall fair condition.
4. ANONYMOUS
Mother and Children
-Minor mould spots can be observed.
-There is a place of tear and repair in the centre on the left, and a place of paper loss and repair in the lower right quadrant.
-The work is in overall good condition
