FURTHER DETAILS
Au Chun-hung (1917-1994) was a well-known collector of Chinese paintings and calligraphy in Hong Kong. He had a famous studio name, Xiong Zhai. Au was deeply interested in Chinese painting and calligraphy and was an expert collector. He shared a close friendship with many modern artists, such as Zhang Daqian, Pu Ru, Deng Fen, Li Xiongcai, Zhao Shao'ang and Yang Shanshen. He had an impressive collection of masterpieces by these artists.
