This fragment reveals both the interior and exterior of a specimen of one of the most coveted meteorites today. The muted, textured surface of the fusion crust is in stark relief to the grey matrix containing white Calcium-Aluminum Inclusions (CAIs), the oldest matter mankind can touch. This pristine, exemplary specimen contains tens of thousands of organic compounds and may be related to the meteorite that introduced the precursors of life to Earth.
