The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Oil on canvasboard. Minor frame abrasion with one or two associated pinpoint paint losses at the extreme edges and a small paint loss at the right lower edge. The lower left corner is very slightly bent. A tiny paint loss in the rocks at the lower right edge. Fine lines of craquelure throughout, only visible in raking light, upon very close inspection. Examined under ultra-violet light: the surface is slightly difficult to read in places due to the viscosity of the varnish in places. There appears to be one or two spots of fluorescence at the upper right edge and corner. Subject to the foregoing, it is our opinion that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
