The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This fine portrait, executed on a small copper panel, is in good original condition with little evidence of restoration. A tiny area of discoloured retouching is visible in the sitter’s red mantle (lower left), and there are some very minor isolated spots of retouching elsewhere, with a small vertical surface scratch in the upper right corner.
