The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been relined and retains a good tension on its stretcher. The paint surface has been somewhat flattened by the relining treatment. The varnish has slightly discoloured, there are a number of surface scratches, centre right, and scuffing at the edges. Some discoloured retouching is visible to the naked eye. Examination under ultra violet light reveals an irregular vertical line of restoration through the middle of the composition with scattered strengthening elsewhere.
