The canvas has been subject to a strict relining; it is held under tension and remains stable. Examination in natural light shows a fine pattern of craquelure across the paint surface. The texture of the brushwork is uniform as a consequence of the lining treatment, and there has been some slight abrasion to the upper paint glazes. Examination under UV light shows scattered retouching overall, especially as infill to the aforementioned craquelure. The integrity of the artist’s technique appears intact and the paint is stable.
