Lot Essay

Nicholas Krushenick was an American artist active in the 1960s and 1970s. His work straddles the line between Op Art, Pop Art, and Abstract Expressionism. Best known for his animated abstractions, Krushenick’s technique of boldly outlined, brightly-colored forms matched well with the precision and saturation of Domberger’s screenprinting process. Krushenick produced several print portfolios, working with master printers at both Tamarind Lithography Workshop in Los Angeles, Galerie der Speigel in Cologne, and Edition Domberger.
