Lot Essay

The portfolio , an initiative of Michael Domberger, was published in 1989 and included works by Christo, Piero Dorazio, Richard Estes, Imi Knoebel, Heinz Mack, Sigmar Polke (see lot 56), Pierre Soulages and many others. The artists received no fees for their contributions and the entire proceeds of the publication went towards the accommodation of parents near cancer treatment centers for children.

In recognition of their contribution, each of the artists received 20 proof impressions of their work.
