Lot Essay

Thomas Lound was a pupil of John Sell Cotman (1782-1842), but earned his living as a brewer. He joined the Norwich Society of Artists in 1820 and exhibited with them until 1833 and became one of the leaders of artistic life in Norwich after the closing of the Norwich Society.
