Lot Essay
The two works in this lot are presumably intended as a pair, both depicting a solitary house set above closed wooden drawers, against light and dark backgrounds respectively. Schade creates a suspenseful contrast between the cold, rational and geometrical structures of the houses and the locked wooden drawers, successfully playing with the viewer’s imagination. Titus Schade was born in Leipzig in 1984 and studied under Neo Rauch.
