    拍品專文

    Bernard Leach is renowned as the father of British studio pottery and leader of the revival of traditional handmade pottery in England. He was born in Hong Kong and moved to Japan and then Singapore. He was educated in England and went on to attend the London School of Art under Frank Brangwyn. He went to China from 1914 - 1916 and later said he was inspired by carvings in old Han Dynasty tombs to create this motif (see Oliver Watson, Bernard Leach - Potter and Artist, exhibition catalogue, (Tokyo, 1997), p. 118, no. 125.
