SIGNEDSAITO SAKU [MADE BY SAITO], EDO PERIOD (18TH CENTURY)
The rectangular box with indented corners, with fitted inner tray, decorated in gold hiramaki-e and takamaki-e with scattered cherry blossoms and ferns on a mura-nashiji ground, the interior similarly decorated with cherry blossoms and ferns on a nashiji ground, fundame rims, fitted with two gilt yamagane-nanako ring-fittings in the form of flowerhead and cords
