Grace Before Meals

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been wax relined. The surface is stable and has an even layer of varnish. There is minor scuffing around the extreme edges and an overall surface craquelure with some areas of paint separation that have developed at lower left. Under UV light, the painting has a very opaque old varnish, making it difficult to read restorations.There are a few scattered touches to the background above the figure. There is a larger area of restoration at lower left, forming an upside down T shape. This measures about five inches by two inches. There are also two small areas of restoration in the lower right quadrant.
