The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Under UV light inspection, there is retouching to the corners and on the left extreme edge to address frame abrasion. There are scattered dots of inpainting in the sky. There is retouching in the figure's clothing including retouches to address paint separation the upper portion of the skirt, skirt sash, and collar. There are dots of retouching in her hair and at the bottom of the newspaper. There is a thin vertical line of retouching in the water about three inches from the left edge. In the sky above her head, there are thin lines of retouching to address a 2 1/2 inch diameter circle and 5 inch horizontal line of craquelure.
