The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been wax relined. There is a slight bend in the surface next to the main figure's proper right arm. The surface is stable and minor surface dirt is present overall. Frame abrasion is present at the extreme edges. Thin cracquelure has developed on and near the proper right sleeve of the main figure and paint separation is visible on the proper right knee of the main figure and adjacent water. Under UV light inspection, there is faintly flourescent retouching to a three inch area near the upper right corner and a small area in the upper left sky. There is minimal scattered retouching in the right arm of the main figure and addressing some of the paint separation in the proper right leg and the frame abrasion. There is recent retouching to a spot in the main figure's hair above her temple, the water between her proper right arm and the left edge, and a one inch area between her proper right leg and the rock.
