The panel bows forward in the middle. There is surface dirt present. There is an old layer of varnish. There is thin tight craquelure in the wall and green fabric at right, and a little at the top of the hair. There are spots of minor scuffing at the extreme edges due to frame abrasion. There are spots of paint loss next to the vase, lid of the vase, and in central background in line with the sitter's eyeline. Under UV light inspection, there is retouching to address frame abrasion along the extreme right and lower edges. There are dots of brighter and less bright retouches in the figure's body, cheek, and hair. There are dots of retouching in the fur. There are areas of contrast in the red foreground and fabrics at right, from either varnish opacity or inpainting. There is varnish opacity and cracking in the area around the heater. There are a few dots of retouching in the area of the heater and a small area next to the paint loss in the background. There is a horizon line of retouching on the underside of the heater an inch long.
