The Knight of Death

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The surface is stable and the canvas is strip relined. The surface is clean and there is an even layer of varnish. Under UV light inspection, there are lines and spots of retouching in the upper corners. In and around the head of the horse and rider there are spots and small areas of retouching. There is retouching around the head and halo of the woman's head in the horse's body and in the sheath. In and around the crow there are older and newer spots and areas of retouching. There is a small area of retouching at the extreme left edge at the height of the horse's leg and a few scattered dots along the right edge.
