Rare first issue, with the title misprinted as “Elmer Cantry” on the cloth spine. (Text block cracked before title.) * Dodsworth. Harcourt, Brace, 1929. * Cass Timberlane. Random House, 1945. Presentation copy, inscribed and signed by the author to his editor at Random House: “To Saxe Commins, the finest person to sweat & swear thru all of thisexcept for / Sinclair Lewis / with too much gratitude even to be expressed.
