Hall Printing Co. / Chicago" in gothic type on copyright page. The first of the Tarzan novels, the story first appeared in the pulp magazine The All-Story, vol. XXIV, no. 2 (October 1912). Octavo. Original red cloth (spine a little dull with small scratch), pictorial dust jacket (spine panel toned with some chipping at ends, folds starting, crease to lower corner of front panel). Provenance: C.S. Johann (Maryland, blindstamp).
