Legendarily written in six days, this work is a frenetic, violent romp that proved immensely profitable despite critical disapprobation. Mike Hammer executes bloodbath justice for the murder of his best friend. All three works were adapted into film noir, most notably Kiss me, Deadly, produced and directed by Robert Aldrich.
