First edition of the authors first book, inscribed to director and actor Paul Bartel. “For Paul Bartel, Thanks for tracking this down. Sincerely, Budd Schulberg.” Schulberg would be best known for this, his debut novel, as well as his screenplays – he won an Academy Award for On the Waterfront (1954).
