A donation for the benefit of Vladislav Khodasevich. 'I found out that the [game of bridge] for the benefit of Khodasevich did not take place. And yet, I am asking you not to return the 200 francs that I had contributed for this'.

Maria Zetlin (1882-1976) was a publisher, political activist, salonist and art collector. The influential poet and critic Vladislav Khodasevich (1886-1939) was a leading contributor to the influential Paris emigré journal Vozrozhdenie, and an early champion of Vladimir Nabokov.
