Autograph letter (signature excised) to August Viedert, Spasskoe, 1/13 January 1855.

In Russian. 2½ pages, 138 x 109mm, on a bifolium. Provenance: Serge Lifar (1905-1986), stamp to upper left of p.1 – Sotheby’s, 10 June 2009, lot 107 (part).

News from the country. Turgenev writes has been living at his country estate at Spasskoe-Lutovinovo over the winter. He provides his new address and writes that the poet Nikolay Nekrasov is not going to travel to Europe until later in the year.
