Document signed ('Joukovsky'), a receipt for 10,000 francs received from A.M. Rothschild & Sons, Frankfurt am Main, 1 October 1845.

In French. Partly-printed document (by the printers C. Naumann, Frankfurt), completed in manuscript, one leaf, 108 x 270mm, engraved arms of A.M. Rothschild at left, numbered 'N. 197' at upper right.

A receipt for 10,000 francs on the account of Messrs Seguin Duval in St Petersburg, 'by virtue of the letter of credit of 16 May 1844'.

The funds may be for the regular pensions and royalty payments which Zhukovsky continued to receive from Russia during his last decade in Germany.
