In Russian. 12 lines in pencil on a leaf, 306 x 231mm, including a variant reading, on the verso of a printed image from the fashion magazine Art-Gout-Beauté depicting dress designs by Molyneux and Jean Patou.

Autograph draft of 'The Key', on the verso of a fashion plate. 'A cherished key was given to me. / And I was saving it. / It was rusting imperceptibly ... / The final date has expired'. The present draft comprises the first 12 lines only (of 20 in the published version). This is one of several Gippius poems with the title 'Klyuch':
