Lot Essay

He Yuequn, born in Shaoguan, Guangdong, is gifted and talented in painting since childhood. She is a disciple of Wu Yisheng (1929-2009) and Yang Shanshen (1913-2004). She has studied painting for over fifty years and is good at flowers and birds, and also paints landscapes, figures, animals, insects and fishes. She not only inherits the essence of Lingnan School of Painting, but also draws on the aspects of Western painting to create a unique style that is ancient, elegant and agile.
