SPECIALIST'S NOTES
Jian Qinzhai, was a native of Guangdong. Born in the fourteenth year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu (1888), he was a scholar, a skilled painter, and calligrapher. With a passionate interest in oracle bone script, he collated many old texts and transformed them into poetry. Known for his vast collection of seals and oracle bone poetry, he spent the late years of his life writing calligraphy and painting.
