SPECIALIST'S NOTES : Lu Runxiang (1841-1915), courtesy name Fengshi, was a native of Suzhou. He came first in the civil examination in 1874 and eventually became Senior Secretary. His calligraphy is fresh, elegant, bright and moist, showing the stylistic influence of old masters Ouyang Xun and Yu Shinan.
