A set of eight scrolls, mounted as four frames / scroll, mounted for framing, ink / ink and colour on paper
Each scroll measures approximately 41 x 29 cm. (16 ¹⁄₈ x 11 ³⁄₈)
Calligraphy:
Inscribed and signed by Jian Qinzhai, with a total of four seals
Dated winter, jimao year (1939)
Dedicated to Yang Weipang (1899-1984)

Landscapes:
Inscribed and signed by Zhang Yongtang, with a total of seven seals
Dated summer, wuchen year (1928)
Dedicated to Xingtang

Viewing the Moon:
With two seals of Zha Yangu
Further inscribed and signed by Fan Yanqiao (1894-1967), with one seal

NOTE:
The recipient was Yang Weipeng (1899-1984), a native of Guangdong. Yang joined the military after graduating from high school, subsequently set up a mining business in South East Asia and became a very successful entrepreneur in Kuala Lumpur. Yang was a determined and helpful character and was acquainted with Xie Wuliang, Pu Ru, Zhang Daqian, Kang Youwei and others. He supported the war effort and received praise from members of the Government of the Republic of China, such as Xu Jingtang and Yu Hanmou. He opened the Fu Hua shop in Hong Kong.
