The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
On the right scroll:
-there are visible surficial damages, mostly along the top left side of the calligraphy;
-there are streaks of thinning, mostly along the right edge;
-there is a cut along the lower left edge;
-there is a water mark in the centre of the painting;
-there are mould spots, especially on the top of the work;
-there are spaced-out horizontal creases across the surface;
-otherwise it is in good condition.
On the left scroll:
-there are slight mould spots, particularly on the top and bottom of the calligraphy;
-there is some staining, especially on the bottom of the work;
-there are horizontal creases along the left edge of the work;
-it is in our opinion that this work is in good condition.
