Lot Essay

Lu Runxiang, who styled himself as Fengshi and Yunsa, was a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu province and a political figure during the late-Qing and early-Republic period. Specializing in running and regular scripts, he, along with Li Wentian, Lu Baozhong, and Xu Zheng, often inscribed on the paintings of Empress Dowager Cixi at her request.
