Lot Essay

A native of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, Qin Bingwen, styled as Yanyun, was a Juren and the head of an official department in Qing dynasty. Apart from writing poems and travelling, Qin was also a collector with fine taste. He developed his landscape style by imitating the styles of acclaimed painters Wang Jian, Huang Gongwang, and Wu Zhen.
