SPECIALIST'S NOTES Chen Fu’en (1802-1866), courtesy name Shaomo, sobriquet Zihe, was a native of Xingcheng, Jiangxi province. He was selected in 1825 for studying in the court and eventually became the Ministry of Officals. His calligraphy shows the influence of Dong Qichang.
