FURTHER DETAILS
The original collector, Yoshioka Hanryo, was a Japanese painter and an art researcher with extensive knowledge in the field. He studied painting under Kawabata Gyokushō (1842-1913) and was involved in various projects to compile art-related information and organize art collections. Notably, he contributed to the "Imperial Painting Rankings" (帝国絵画番付表) during the Taisho era, as well as to the comprehensive thirty-one-volume guide to the appraisal of calligraphy and painting (真偽評価:書画鑑定指針).
