Lot Essay
Tomonaga Kaho (19th -20th Century) and Shiraishi Rokusaburo 1868-1934) were Japanese businessmen who loved Chinese paintings and calligraphy and had frequent contact with Wu Changshuo. This album comes from a private Hong Kong collection and three Lingnan paintings from the same collection will be offered in our Fine Chinese Modern Paintings and Calligraphy sale on 28 May 2019 (Lots 1436-1438).
