Lot Essay

He Shanyuan (1901-1990), a descendant of the He family in Hunan Province, and a direct descendant of He Shaoji (1799-1873). He was a well-known calligrapher in Taiwan, and one of the founders of the Taiwan Chinese Calligraphy Society, and previously worked as secretary of the provincial government.
