Lot Essay

Wu Rongguang, studio name Lotus Studio, was born in Nanhai County, Guangdong. He studied under Qing scholar Ruan Yuan (1764-1849), and passed the civil service examination in 1798, and was the Governor of Huguang provinces before he retired. He amassed an important collection of books, manuscripts and paintings, and published his collection.
