Lot Essay

Wu Yisheng, a native of Taishan, Guangdong, is an expert at flowers-and-birds, landscape and figure painting. He is a master of painting peacocks. In the 1960s, he founded the Yisheng studio to teach painting and immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1984.
Chen Jinghong, a native of Shunde, Guangdong, lived in Shanghai when he was young and studied calligraphy under Kang Youwei (1858-1927). He has the reputation of “the three talents of Lingnan” with Huang Shaoqiang (1900-1942) and Zhao Shao’ang (1905-1998).
