Lot Essay

A native of Gui’an, now Huzhou, Zhejiang province, Yang Xian styled himself as Jichou and was a Juren who served as a governmental official in prefectural governments located in Changzhou and Songjiang. Known for his writings in the official script, Yang was a teacher of prominent painter and calligrapher Wu Changshuo.
