Accompanied with a letter from Li Shuyou (1913-?) to Ishihara Akira.
The recipient of this work is Ishihara Akira, a well-known practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine in Japanese and participated in the founding of the Japan Society for Oriental Medicine. He wrote many books about Chinese medicine for researching and education. According to the letter from Li Shuyou to Ishihara Akira, Li invited Yu Youren, the then-president of the Control Yuan of the Republic of China, to write the work as a gift to Ishihara Akira. Li was also a well-known practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, whose clinical researches in both traditional Chinese and Western medicine are outstanding. He wrote a medicine book Lian Yuan Yi Ji.
